Dr P M Pathak, a scientist from the Mumbai based Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) died on Friday in road accident. A four wheeler dashed his motorcycle causing sustained head injuries.

Police have arrested accused, identified as Dr. Nobel Jacob, who is also scientist and resident of same building.

According to police incident took place on Thursday evening at BARC residential complex, Trombay a suburban Mumbai. Pathak on his motorbike as came out of from his Mount Abu building a Honda City driven by Dr Jacob dashed his motorbike. Pathak was rushed to MGM Hospital Vashi in Navi Mumbai, where he died on Friday due to head injuries.

The police has first registered a case under sections 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 338 (Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC against the accused Dr. Nobel Jacob. After death of Pathak police converted it in section 304A (Causing death by negligence in the case) in the case.
