THE troubles of the so-called activist and journalist seems to have continued, as a third FIR has been registered against him for extortion within a span of 10 days. This time, Naupada Police in Thane city have registered an FIR against him, once again on charges of Extortion. The earlier two FIR’s were registered by Thane Nagar Police and Kapurbawdi Police, both on the charges of Extortion as well.
On the complaint of one Mahesh Aher, on August 6, 2021 Naupada police registered FIR (230/2021) under sections 384, 385 and 34 of IPC-1860 against Binu Verghese. Mahesh Aher is Assistant Municipal Commissioner (AMC) in Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC). Binu Verghese demanded Rs 10 lakh from Aher. He was continuously harassing and demanding money from Aher. Fedup and frustrated and mentally exhausted due to this harassment by Verghese, Aher gave Rs 1 lakh to Binu Verghese. The amount Rs 1 lakh Aher has allegedly deposited for his wife’s treatment.
Recently, Mahesh Aher heard that his superior DMC Vishwanath Kelkar has registered a complaint of extortion against Binu Verghese. Therefore, he also dared and approached Naupada police station and filed a complaint and requested that an FIR be registered against Binu Verghese. Binu Verghese’s associate Yogesh Mundada has also been booked in the case. Copy of FIR is available with ABI. Both the accused are absconding as of publishing this news.
