A police constable attached to Kanpur police in Uttar Pradesh, who was allegedly caught stealing motorcycles, was terminated from the services on Saturday. Two of his accomplices, who are also police officials, were suspended.

According to media reports, accused identified as Rajendra Kumar, Amardeep Yadav and Dwarika Yadav. They were posted in police line police station in Kanpur police. Rajendra was arrested on September 11 afternoon from Kanpur Railway Station along with two stolen motorcycles.

Another constable, who was following Rajendra, fled away from the spot.

Sources said during interrogation, Rajendra Kumar confessed that he along with two other constables — Amardeep and Dwarika Yadav — used to “steal motorcycles and sell them”.

While Rajendra was terminated from service, Amardeep and Dwarika were suspended.
