This might sound a little weird but actually a customer bit the hand of a female executive attending his query at the Idea Cellular Phone Gallery in Ghatkopar. The incident took place on Saturday evening when the accused Rohit Pawar (23) at around 8 pm visited the gallery with a query in Eagle Building at Ghatkopar (East).

A 21 year old female executive (name held by ABI to protect her identity) was attending Pawar. Pawar explained that his SIM card had been de-activated. The executive requested him to return the next day as it was closing time. Pawar was in no mood to respond to her request and forced her to solve his problem at that very moment.

The conversation between them went on to a level where Pawar became very loud and it turned into a heated argument between the two. Seeing this other executives intervened and asked Pawar to visit the gallery the next day but Pawar was so enraged that he abused and slapped woman executive. It became difficult for the employees to have a control on Pawar and in the wage of anger he bit the female executive’s hand. She had to be rushed to the nearby Khushal hospital for treatment. The hospital authorities informed the Pant Nagar police about the incident after which the police traced and arrested the accused Pawar, who is a resident of Bhoirnagar, Dombivali.

“We have arrested accused under section 323 (voluntary causing hurt), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC. He has been remanded in judicial custody,” said Suresh Nirmal, senior inspector, Pant Nagar police station.
