BHOOTNATH Returns is not only a good comedy film but also a big lesson to the Indians who do not use their voting rights or do not elect the right candidate in the election. Movie reveals the faulty side of Indian democratic system. In the story line a ghost understands the genuine problem of Indian democracy which a living human being could not. Director Nitesh Tiwari has beautifully showcased the way a ghost wins the election over a living man and does better work for the citizens.

Story is about Bhoothnath (Amitabh Bachchan) who goes to the head quarter of ghosts where he is deeply humiliated at not having been successful in scaring children that all ghosts manage so effortlessly. He could not scare even a single child on earth. He tries to meet the chief of the ghosts and want to know when he will get the re-birth. Despite of having a heavy waiting list he finally gets a chance to meet him where he reveals his desire to become a human being again.Chief gives him a chance to prove himself a successful ghost by scaring children on the earth.

He accepts the challenge and goes back to earth where he meets a street child- Akhrot (Parth Bhalerao) in Dharavi area of Mumbai. Akhrot is the only human being who can see him. Due to a small incident Bhoothnath become good friend to Akhrot and he helps Akhrot to earn money in several ways by helping builders to make their under-construction haunted buildings haunt free.

Bhau (Boman Irani) is a builder as well as a political leader who used to win elections by misusing the law. Once again Lok Sabha election date is very close and Bhau is again contesting from Dharavi area. After looking at the kind of basic problems and living standards Dharavi people have, Bhoothnath decides to contest election where he gets a help from an advocate (Sanjay Mishra). There is a law that a dead person cannot contest election, therefore election commission was bound to allow him for nomination and finally Bhoothnath wins the election.

The first half of the movie is full of comedy but second half completely turns around the faulty side of Indian democratic system. Almost every scene reveals the problems in our election and political system and focuses completely on why every eligible citizen of the country should go to the polling booth and use their voting rights. It really gives a beautiful message and pinch to those who don’t use their voting rights. Actors Ranveer Kapoor as a guest artist also appeals to go for vote. Even

Shahrukh Khan & Anurag Kashyap is there in a very small role.

Child artist Parth Bhalerao made his presence in the movie. Amitabh Bachchan as a

Bhoothnath has an amazing performance. On the other side Boman Irani as a politician has dontremendous job. Sanjay Mishra as an advocate has a humorous role and done a good job. Almost every character has its own importance in the movie.

Although it seems funny that a ghost who is not visible contesting in election, our constitution allows him to contest election and even he wins. If we ignore this part of the story, the movie is gives really a good message to people. During election time in India this movie can play a vital role in educating people to use their voting rights and choosing the right candidates. Finally it’s a worth watching with family.
