THE Maharashtra Board conducts exams within the state through nine divisional boards at Pune, Mumbai, Latur, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Kolhapur, Amaravati and Ratnagiri.

The Maharashtra HSC result declared on Wednesday. Examination held in March While 83.46% boys were successful; girls outnumbered them with a passing percentage of 90.50. Pune Divisional Board scored 87.26%, Aurangabad Divisional Board scored 87.80% and Latur scored 86.28 % marks.

The Maharashtra HSC result: examination held in March this year has registered an overall pass percentage of 86.60, with girls having an edge over boys in the HSC results 2016 announced on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.

According to media reports, an estimated 14 lakh students appeared for the HSC examination in which out of nine regional divisions of the Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Konkan topped the list for the fifth consecutive year with passing percentage of 93.20 and with Nasik division lagging at 83.89%. Mumbai, that has the highest number of students scored a passing percentage of 86.08.

Here are the important highlights from the MSBSHSE HSC Result 2016:

Girls outshone the boys this time again and as many as 90.50% girls were declared as passed while for the boys the figure was 83.46%.
As many as 93.16% students from the Science stream passed the exams, while the percentage of passed students was lowest in Arts stream with 78.11%.
For Commerce and Vocational stream students, the number was 79.10% and 81.68% respectively.
100% students from 457 schools passed the examination, while 36 schools registered 0% result.
Following are the division wise HSC results 2016 : Konkan 93.20, Mumbai 86.08, Pune 87.26, Aurangabad 87.80, Nagpur 86.35, Amaravati 85.81, Kolhapur 88.10, Latur 86.28 and Nasik 88.13.
