THE Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mumbai has arrested Police Naik Dilip Sahebrao Rajput attached with Ambarnath Police Station, Thane, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.

According to press note issued by ACB, on June 13, 2014, the complainant started construction work on his uncle’s land by demolishing his old house. Although the neighborhood builder has registered an NC against the complainant, he still wanted to continue the construction work. The accused Rajput demanded bribe of Rs 25,000 from complainant. The complainant bargained on the amount and the amount was set to Rs 20,000. Rajput had taken Rs 15,000 but for the remaining amount, Rajput stopped the construction work. It was then decided that the complainant will pay Rajput the remaining amount of Rs. 5,000 on June 13, 2014.

On the basis of the complaint, the ACB setup a trap and arrested Dilip Sahebrao Rajput accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from complainant at around 1.30 pm opposite Ambarnath police station.
