THE Pune unit of the Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB), on Friday arrested a doctor for alleged demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2,500.

According to ACB press note, the doctor identified as Sanjay Vitkar. A class-2 officer Vitkar is posted in a government run hospital at Chakan, Pune rural.

The complainant had admitted his pregnant wife in hospital. As per rule there are no fees for pregnant patients in hospital but Vitkar allegedly demanded Rs 2,500. Later Vitkar agreed to accept Rs 2,000. The complainant approached ACB office, Pune and registered FIR against Vitkar.

On Friday around 1.10pm, ACB officials laid a trap and arrested Vitkar while accepting bribe Rs 2,000 from near his residence.
