THE Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials laid six traps in the state yesterday. A deputy collector, Gram Sevak, Orthopaedic surgeon, assistant police inspector (API), assistant sub-inspector (ASI), a police Naik and two private persons have been arrested into the matter.
The ACB’ Mumbai officials arrested API Ravindra Gopal Gambre of Parksite in Vikroli police station and his aide Imran Chunnu Khan for accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000. There is an FIR had been registered against complainant in Byculla police station. This matter was later transferred to Gamdevi police station. The complainant approached private person Imran who introduced Gambre. Gambre is now posted in Parksite police station. Besides this he promised that he will settle the matter if he pays Rs 1,00,000 to the investigation officers. Later Gambre started harassing to the complainant demanding Rs 1,00,000. The complainant approached ACB officials.
In second trap ACB officials arrested Jagdish Sambhaji Dalvi, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) attached with Sakinaka police station. The complainant a transporter by profession had been arrested by Sakinaka police. For helping into the matter Dalvi taken Rs 2,00,000 from him. He was continuing demanding money from him. Fed up with this complainant approached ACB.
A deputy collector Ramsingh Arun Gujrathi and his associate Mayur Arun Gujrathi at Yeola (Nashik) arrested for accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 for giving favourable decision in complainant’s appeal pending before him.
Sanjay Devidas Devkate, Gram Sevak, Panchayat Samiti Shekapur, Osmanabad, arrested while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 500 to provide property register extract.
An Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Subhash Chavan of Civil Hospital Buldhana arrested while accepting bribe of Rs 4,000 from a patient.
Police Naik Tukaram Krishnarao Ade of Daithna police station in Parbhani arrested while accepting bribe of Rs 1,500 from complainant to file chargesheet against him.
