IN a horrific incident at Kurla (Central) railway station in Mumbai a woman commuter was pushed to death under a moving train by a chain snatcher. Woman was unmarried and not pregnant as news channels are reporting.
The incident came to light around 8pm on December 6, 2016. The CCTV footage that was recovered from the railway station showed the woman was standing on platform No- 1 eating Bhel near ladies compartment when a chain snatcher came running after snatching a chain and collided with her. The woman lost balance and fell towards the tracks. At the same time, a train arrived and this woman was hit by the train. She was taken to Sion hospital but could not be saved.
The chain snatcher was caught by the public and is now in police custody. He was identified as Rafi Bairagi Charan Malik (19). He is native of Orissa.
