A 57-year-old man has been arrested on Tuesday by Lokmanya Tilak (LT) Marg police for allegedly molesting a 25-year-old dentist in Kalbadevi. The accused is chartered accountant (CA) by profession.
According to the police, the accused identified as Harish Sampat, is 57-year-old but unmarried. He lives just opposite LT Marg police station with his brother.
An-year-ago Sampat had visited the victim’s medical centre at Kalbadevi for treatment of his route canal for the first time. He fell in love with her (dentist) in the first meeting itself. He started visiting her clinic very often and most of the time for no reason. Once he held her hands on pretext of palm reading. Later he put proposal to marry her but seeing the age-deference dentist refused his proposal.
The victim is a resident of Parel. She told police that Sampat would send messages her and make phone calls on her cell phone. When she would not take his calls he would call her from the PCO. When dentist refused his marriage proposal he abused her and also threatened to kill her.
The accused was arrested on Tuesday after police recorded his statement. He was produced in local court on Wednesday where judge granted him bail.
