Cheating FIR registered against top bookie RR for running online cricket betting racket on pretext of online LUDO game

THE Special Cell police in New Delhi have registered FIR for cheating against top bookie Rakesh Rajdev alias Rakesh Rajkot alias RR Bhai. The RR is accused of running an online betting racket on pretext of running a LUDO game.

On October 28, 2022 Special Cell police registered FIR (CR No- 0325/2022) under section 420 of IPC against RR and his websites www.diamondexch.com and www.world777.com.

According to FIR, a person by name Atul Kumar on October 21, 2022 wished to play LUDO game online. He searched and found a website www.betbook247.com which claimed on its homepage that it provide facility to play online game of various kinds of sports which are legal in India. Believing that claim Atul Kumar contacted the mobile numbers 9755555555 and 9255555555 that were given on website. After paying Rs 500 through online channel, Atul Kumar was forced to place bets on cricket. Atul Kumar was informed that www.betbook247.com is not a gaming website but actually an cricket betting site. Atul Kumar, feeling cheated, demanded his money (Rs 500) back as he did not wish to place bets on cricket. However. Instead of returning the money, Atul Kumar was blocked on the website.

Atul Kumar, a resident of Sita Puri, Dabri, New Delhi filed a written complaint to Prashant Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO), Cyber Crime Unit, New Delhi. After preliminary investigation, police registered the FIR against RR. RR is accused of running online cricket betting racket through website www.diamondexch.com and www.world777.com.

Speaking to ABI, Atul Kumar said, “This is the first FIR in India against www.diamondexch.com. There are thousands of pending complaints but Delhi IFSO took the step to register the FIR. Now their next action is under section 69A of IT act to block access of these sites in India.” “Indians won’t be able to access or login their accounts of all diamond and world sites in India anymore,” Atul Kumar added.
