Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Baramati constituency Suresh Khopade on Sunday has registered an FIR against Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar is an accused for threatening Baramati villagers to vote for Supriya Sule or face water cut.

NCP chief Sharad Pawarā€™s nephew Ajit Pawar on April 16 (on the day of polling) had reportedly visited Masalwadi village with a group of 50-60 supporters and threatened the villagers. In a public rally, addressing to the villagers Pawar threatens them saying vote for Supriya Sule neither be ready for water cut. Sule is Sharad Pawarā€™s daughter and Ajit Pawarā€™s cousin sister.

A local BJP leader too has filed a complaint against Pawar in Vadgaon police station. Baramati voted on Thursday in the fifth phase of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

According to a sources, Pawar has been booked under Sections 171 C (undue influence at elections) and 171F (punishment for undue influence or personation at an election) of the IPC.

In his complaint, Khopade also has referred to a video, which is visually unclear but has a good audio. Khopde verified the video and has also spoken to villagers in Baramati.
