SATARA wing of Maharashtra Anti – Corruption Bureau (ACB), on April 19 arrested a Talathi for accepting a bribe of Rs. 2,000 for the reduction in encumbrance of saat-baara Utara and an alteration in the extract of the complainant.

According to the complaint, Vijay Venkatrao Bhosale (42), the Talathi of Palshi, Satara demanded a bribe of Rs. 2,000 and guided the complainant to deliver the bribe amount to the Snehanjali Computer and Xerox Centre, shop on the name of Bhosale’s wife in DP Heights building near Khanadala Depot.

An FIR have been registered against him in the Khanadala Police station and the ACB is still carrying on the further investigation into the matter.

Bhandara Sepoy arrested for accepting Rs. 8,000

ANOTHER arrest by the ACB, Bhandara was Jayghosh Dhaniram Janbandhu sepoy in state excise department. Janbandhu allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant Naresh Dharmadas Bhondekar, who is a carpenter by profession.

Bhondekar is a resident of Anandnagar , Shahpur and was transporting Hay for his cattle on his motorcycle from Mauja Varthi. Janbandhu demanded a bribe for not registering a complaint against him for the transporting of Hay illegally. After a bargain between the two the bribe amount reduced to Rs. 8,000. Janbandhu was arrested near Rajiv Gandhi Chowk while accepting the bribe amount.

Janbandhu was charged under Sections 7, (13)(1)(D) and (13)(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, further investigation is on the matter.
