THE officials of Kalyan Crime Branch in Thane district on Tuesday seized Rs 30.42 lakh in two separate cases and arrested three persons. Shocking IndusInd Bank manager has been also arrested into the matter. The matter has been referred to the Income Tax department.

According to police, IndusInd bank manager identified Sundaram Subramanian posted at Andheri branch.

Acting on a tip off police team kept a vigil in Bunty hotel, Shilphata road and first nabbed the Subramanian and Chetan Patil. Police recovered from their possession 622 notes of Rs 2,000 denomination (valued at Rs 12.44 lakh). Police also recovered currency of other denominations totalling Rs 97,820 from the bank manager Subramanian. Chetan Patil is a resident of Kharegaon. Subramanian was supposed to getting 15 percent commission on exchange of new currency.

In second incident, the police apprehended another person Mohammed Mustafa and recovered from him 831 notes of Rs 2,000 value (totalling Rs 16, 62,000). Mustafa is a resident of Mumbra.
