SHOPS and all other business establishments in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Marathwada downed shutters on Tuesday following the sudden demise of Union Rural Development Minister and top BJP leader Gopinath Munde. On Tuesday morning Mundey died at Delhi due to severe heart attack after his a car met in an accident.
Businesses and shops in the city spontaneously decided to keep their shutters closed to pay tribute to the departed mass leader. Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Beed, Latur, Jalna, Osmanabad, Parbhani, Hingoli and Nanded districts in Marathwada said that these seven districts also remained totally closed, as business activities came to standstill, where the BJP has a strong presence.
Munde’s last rites will be performed in his home town of Parli tomorrow afternoon, sources added.
