THE Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mumbai has arrested, Prakash Janardan Patil a Police Sub- Inspector (PSI), attached to Economic Offences Wing (EOW), No – 7, Mumbai, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from the complainant.

According to the Press Note issued by the ACB, the complainant is in the business of manufacturing plastic and related articles and has complaints of fraud and cheating, against his two companies with the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police.

Prakash Patil (51) was investigating the matter. The chargesheet has been filed into the matter. Patil allegedly demanded Rs 2, 00, 000 to do not produce the witnesses in case to save the complainant. After a bargain Patil ready to accept amount in two installments Rs 1,00,000 each.

The complainant on October 5, 2014, approached the ACB, Mumbai and registered a complaint against Patil. The ACB officials set a trap at Borivali (West), Mumbai and arrested Patil, while accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from the complainant.
