A 15-year-old girl was gangraped by her friends at a birthday party at Kopri near the Bharat College area in Thane. The girl is SSC student. One of the accused’s sister Dipali Ahir, who is married, has been also arrested as she forced the victim to have the spiked drink.
According to media reports, the girl is resident of Ghodubunder Road in Thane (West). She was called for a birthday celebration that day and was picked up by one her friends Kaustubh Chavan (21) on a bike after which she was taken to a flat. Four others were already present at home.
The accused gave her a spiked drink forcibly and beat her up when she tried to resist the drink. After she was unconscious, they undressed her and allegedly raped her. Later, they took her in a car and threw her near her building.
Later when victim gained conscious narrated the sequence of events to her family who then approached the police and a case of rape was registered against the accused, who are all are in their twenties.
The Kopri police registered FIR under section 376D, 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 366 (Kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage, etc), and sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (Pocso).
All accused, including a woman, have been arrested. The accused were produced in court on Tuesday where they have been given police custody till October 10.
