PUTTING aside all the alternative and speculative theories revolving around her death the Delhi police have registered murder case against unknown persons in Sunanda Pushkar death case. Sunanda was wife of then minister of State for Human Resource Development and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor.

Speaking to media on Tuesday the Delhi police Commissioner B S Bassi told that a murder case have been registered at Sarojini Nagar police station against unknown persons. Bassi confirmed that Sunanda was poisoned and that the poison was either administered to her by mouth or injection.
50-year-old Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in room number 345 of five-star hotel Leela Palace on January 17, 2014.

The medical report of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was received on December 29, 2014. We have been told that it was an unnatural death. It was not a natural death. Sunanda Pushkar died due to poisoning. Whether the poison was given orally or injected into her body is being investigated. Her viscera have been send abroad,” Bassi added.

Since tests to ascertain the quantum and nature of the poison cannot take place in India, police have decided to send viscera samples abroad for examination.

Sources said Tharoor was also likely to be questioned in the case soon. He was having an affair with a Pakistani journalist.
