MEGH Shah, business partner of controversial police officer Prakash Bhandary has demanded for police protection fearing Bhandary would kill him or frame him under any false charges. Shah alleged that Prakash Bhandary kicked him out of the business and acquired the fashion store threatening to kill him in fake encounter.
On August 20, 2015 Shah met Commissioner of Police, Rakesh Maria and submitted an application (copy available with ABI) requesting for police protection. However, Maria assured him he will look into the matter.
āI met Rakesh Maria. He gave me a satisfying response. He assured me that there will be no injustice with me or my familyā, said Shah.
Why Shah demands police protection?
Shah and his family members are living in fear after Prakash Bhandary kicked off him from business.
1- On October 7, 2014 Bhandary gave Rs. 5, 00,000 as token amount to Shah and promised to pay the balance amount within a week’s time.
2- On October 31, 2014 Bhandary called Shah at his residence. He kept his revolver on table and asked to sign on a few papers which turned out to be the agreement and other necessary documents. Bhandary heavily insulted, cursed and gave the life threats to sign the given agreements. Helpless Shah signed on the papers due to mental pressure levied by Bhandary.
3- On April 19, 2015 few goons stopped Shah from entering into his own fashion store. He was manhandled. He was threatened that if he (Shah) stepped his foot into store or even the lane, he will be killed and his body parts will be found in different parts of Mumbai. āYe studio mein to chhod, dusari baar iss gali mein bhi nazar aaya na, toh teri khopdi milegi Dharavi mein aur pair milenge Colaba mein.ā
4- On April 26, 2015 Shah was travelling from Vile Parle to Charni road by local train. An unknown person held his neck from back saying āBhandary saheb ke saath lafda kar raha hai be ?ā and forcibly pushed him. Shah slipped and fell on the platform. He was bedridden for around 14-22 days.
5- On May 6, 2015 two unknown persons appeared at Shah residence. They threatened Shahās wife and her daughter that your husband is unnecessary taking “panga”. Be ready for unseen circumstances. Shahās daughter is traumatise since then.
6- On July 4, 2015 Shahās car was brushed and damaged completely from the right side. The experts at garage confirmed it to be a deliberate damage and not an accidental one.
When contacted Bhandary said, āWhat I can say on false allegations.ā

On August 16, 2015 ABI (Akela Bureau of Investigation) has published an article under headline, āEncounter specialist Prakash Bhandary threatens business partner, takes over Juhu fashion store at gunpoint.ā
According to reports, Megh Shah, famous fashion designer from Mumbai has been complaining against the Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Prakash Bhandary alleging that the duo kicked him out of the business and acquired the fashion store threatening to kill him in fake encounter. Megh Shah also claimed that Bhandary invested Rs. 5, 00,000 only in the business but usurps business of crore of rupees with help of anti-social elements.
āIn April 2013, Megh Shah established a fashion store āMeghā in a posh locality 12/A, Lakshyadweep Building, Gulmohar Cross Road No-5, JVPD, Juhu (West) on leave and license basis with a monthly rental of Rs. 2, 00,000 and deposit of Rs. 10, 00,000. Shah spent Rs. 30, 00,000 approximately to construct and create the store. Rs. 45, 00,000 he spent to purchase raw materials (fabrics), accessories, ties and cufflinks etc.
Megh Shah and Prakash Bhandary were in cordial relationship since 1999. Bhandary got ready to invest Rs. 32, 00,000 into the business. On October 7, 2014 Bhandary gave Rs. 5, 00,000 as token amount to Shah and promised to pay the balance amount within a weeksā time. Surprisingly on the second day i.e. October 8, 2014 Bhandary appeared in store and started interfering in minute working aspects. She took control over the entire finances.
On October 31, 2014 Bhandary called Shah at his residence. He kept his revolver on table and asked to sign on a few papers which turned out to be the agreements and important deals. Bhandary heavily insulted, cursed and gave the life threats to sign the given agreements. Helpless Shah signed on the papers without reading. One day in April 2015, Shah was shocked when few goons stopped him for entering into the store. He was manhandled. He was threatened that if he (Shah) stepped his foot into store or in its lane, will be killed and his body parts will be found in deferent parts of Mumbai.
